Welcome to Streets Ahead Driving School. My name is Caress Phillips and my partner Nigel Jaques have over 14 years of driving instruction experience, from giving lessons in the busy suburbs of London and Auckland.

Streets Ahead Driving School is an owner operated local business providing professional and thorough driver training within the Nelson, Richmond, Wakefield, Brightwater, Mapua, Motueka, and Atawhai areas.

Driving tests are a bit tougher than they used to be. People now need to be good skilled drivers to obtain their licence through each stage of the graduated licence system. We cater to the needs of learner licence, restricted licence, full licence as well as overseas licence holders needing to convert to New Zealand drivers licence.

No matter what level of experience, whether you're just starting as a learner, or you're looking to pass your full licence, Streets Ahead Driving School will put you on the right track and help you pass your driving test.

In our experience a single lesson before a test is unlikely to be able to provide the skills necessary to pass your test. Two - Four lessons will give you a better skills base to pass that all important test.

We can pick you up from home, school or work for your driving lessons. Remember it's much easier and less stressful to have driving lessons in a relaxed atmosphere with a patient male/female driving instructor, than from family and friends. Also, there's the possible bad habits you could pick up.

Streets Ahead has a fantastic first time pass rate on all tests, probably the best in Nelson.
